Senior Statistical Analyst

Reporting to the Senior Statistical Supervisor, Primary Care Alberta's Screening Programs is looking for an advanced statistical analyst who thrives at the intersection of advanced analytics, clinical data and operational insight. In this role, you will collaborate with clinicians, IT teams, and other partners to lead the development of statistical models, build and develop data query to support decision making and leverage your Connect Care expertise to translate complex clinical data into understandable information and reports.
Description:
Main responsibilities and accountabilities for this position include: Develop, validate and maintain predictive and statistical models using advanced techniques (i.e. regression analysis, time series, machine learning, outcome analysis, etc.). Develop, analyze and build clinical and operational report from Connect Care, including Clarity and Caboodle data models. Lead complex statistical analysis and reporting for different audience/users, from conception to delivery, ensuring methodological rigor and clear communications of results. Build dashboards, reports and visualizations that support decision-making across clinical and administrative teams. Complete statistical tasks that support different program and partners with a focus on providing timely and quality results. Communicate data findings to staff, management and stakeholders as required and liaise with internal and external stakeholders related to provision and interpretation of data for statistical and reporting needs. Maintain knowledge and competency in a variety of enterprise clinical systems, tools and applications that are utilized by Primary Care Alberta.

A Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Data Science, Mathematics, Health Research, Economics or equivalent. 5+ years of direct statistical analysis, modeling, or applied analytics experience in Canadian health care environment. Demonstrated experience with Epic Connect Care, including hands on experience with Clarity/Caboodle data structures and reporting. Advanced level expertise in working with large databases, with solid SQL programming skills and proficiency in R, Python, Snowflake, SAS or similar statistical programming languages.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Proven ability to design and validate predictive models and interpret results for non-technical audiences. Strong analytical problems solving skills. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, task-oriented environment. Ability to work well independently as well as within a remote/hybrid team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive experience with reporting tools: Tableau, Power BI, Reporting Workbench, Radar, SlicerDicer. Experience with population-level health data analysis. Experience with modeling such as OncoSim. Knowledge of GIS Mapping tools/techniques.
