A Baccalaureate degree in health science or nursing. A minimum of three years’ (3) experience working in Indigenous health. Healthcare experience, working knowledge of the health care system is required. A minimum of 5 years in leadership and/or program planning role ideally in health care and/or with Indigenous organization or agency of significant size, complexity and diversity serving Indigenous Peoples and communities. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals.

Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client – focused orientation, and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching, and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovation solutions for complex and diverse issues. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with intern and external stakeholders. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to plan, organize and manage short and longe- term plans and projects and deliver patient/client focused results. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst and build solid relationships with public agencies, government, committees and other partners. Proficient with computers. Valid drivers license and must be able to travel. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
