Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three (3-5 years) years recent experience as a registered nurse in a clinical setting, including experience in a variety of clinical areas that require high levels of independent and advanced assessment skills, strong critical thinking and excellent probing skills to extract pertinent information to support clinical decisions. They will also require recent experience working with diverse client populations and clinical issues including emergency, pediatrics, maternal/child, medical/ surgical and critical care. They will also have the ability to successfully deal with stress in a high call volume contact center and in addition, they will be able to work comfortably with a variety of computer databases. A minimum typing speed of 35 WPM is a must. Intermediate computer skills are also a requirement for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is preferred. Experience interacting with clients over the telephone is also preferred.
