Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent tuberculosis (TB) experience within the last three years is required. Recent experience triaging and managing referrals is also essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment and the ability to assess and manage complex TB and public health cases. A solid understanding of TB screening practices, treatment regimens, and the public health implications of tuberculosis is required, along with recent experience providing consultation, guidance, and education to healthcare providers and the public. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to educate, counsel, and effectively engage clients from diverse backgrounds, including individuals with complex medical and social needs. The successful candidate must be able to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment. An N95 fit test is required. Physical demands of the position include maintaining prolonged postures and frequent operation of clinical equipment. The role involves standing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, stooping, reaching, and carrying loads of up to 20 lbs. Responsibilities may include patient handling activities such as transfers, repositioning, and CPR as well as transporting supplies and equipment for off-site contact investigations when required. The ability to perform repetitive computer-based tasks and maintain accurate electronic documentation is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in infectious diseases and community-based care is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate knowledge of TB transmission, diagnostic testing, treatment protocols, and public health principles in an ambulatory care setting. Experience in case management, client and family education, and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams supporting individuals affected by infectious diseases is considered an asset.
