Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

At least 1 year of experience working as a Registered Nurse in any of the following areas: maternal-child health, and or immunization providing routine immunization scheduled across the lifespan. Manually manipulate small objects repetitively. Lift/carry supplies up to a minimum of 30 lbs. Ability to bend, twist, kneel and respond safely and quickly to a variety of emergency situations. Independently perform the skills of a certified BLS provider. Sit, stand for a minimum of 30 minutes. Ability to raise arms to shoulder height, in a repetitive movement for immunization. Ability to bend, twist, kneel and respond safely and quickly to a variety of emergency situations. Work within outreach sites that have no consistent ergonomic setup. Effective and efficient time management. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse clients from various cultures, ages and socioeconomic backgrounds. Proficient computer and keyboarding skills. Demonstrate culturally competent care. Conduct contemporaneous electronic documentation at the point of care. Self-directed and able to exercise critical thinking and independent nursing judgement in a fast-paced stressful environment. New employees to PCA must have a recent (within the past three months) criminal record check.

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred; however skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in a community setting will be considered. Current experience working in Well Child Clinic within the last 3 years. Nursing students with a final focus in public health within the last 3 years will be considered. Current CNA Certification in Community Health Nursing. Internationally Board-Certified Lactation Consultant. Experience working in Connect Care.
