The East Calgary Family Care Clinic (ECFCC) is known for providing comprehensive primary care for patients with complex needs. This could be any combination of chronic illnesses and mental health concerns along with social or economic factors that negatively impact health. The Nurse Practitioner role at the ECFCC works independently with their own panel of patients, acting as the patients most responsible provider. Working within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team you will provide patient and family centered care in a nonjudgmental, trauma informed approach, supporting health enhancing behaviours. This role is perfect for someone looking to work to their full scope of practice in a team-based environment. Description:

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program and a minimum of master's degree. Registration with CRNA on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

NP and RN experience in chronic disease management, mental health, and/or primary health care. Demonstrated ability to provide quality, comprehensive and integrated primary health services in a team-based environment within the scope of practice for nurse practitioners as approved by CRNA. Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability within a complex and rapidly changing environment is required, as this role involves working with patients who may present with urgent medical or psychiatric concerns. The role involves working with patients with history of trauma, and/or suicidal tendencies. Education and demonstrated experience providing trauma informed care. Applies principles of primary health care in providing health services. Practices autonomously and collaboratively. Promotes and supports health enhancing behaviors. Strong organizational skills Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills Demonstrated ability to use Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and computer literacy with contemporaneous electronic documentation at point of care. Use of approved AI software for documentation is available

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in working with chronic pain, and substance use disorders including opioid agonist treatment an asset. Familiarity with HealthChange® Methodology or similar frameworks to support health behaviour change in patients Experience providing care to all ages, including pediatrics.
