Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Diploma in Licensed Practical Nursing. Current Immunization certificate is required. Recent experience (within the last 1-3 years) working in Public Health. Ability to be self-directed and to exercise independent nursing judgment. Strong interpersonal skills. Experience in interdisciplinary teamwork, including with clerical, nursing, and school staff. Strong written and oral communication skills (in-person and over the telephone). Strong analytical, critical thinking, decision making, and organizational skills. Ability to deliver educational presentations (public speaking) to adults and school-aged children is required. Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft 365, Sharepoint, email, Internet access, and data entry. Recent experience (within the past year) working with Connect Care is required. Experience providing point-of-care charting and immunizations in a bustling, non-clinical setting. Recent experience (within the past 1-3 years) immunizing adults and school-aged children is required. Experience working with teenagers, diverse cultures, and marginalized populations in rural locales. Experience using Positive Immunization Experience (PIE) kits to help students through the process of being immunized.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge, understanding and demonstrated use of the social determinants of health and health promotion is preferred.
