Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Program Manager – Virtual Rehabilitation, this position is responsible for the Rehabilitation Advice Line and Virtual Rehabilitation Team operational support, development, implementation, and evaluation including future expansion into new patient population areas and organizational priorities. The Clinical Manager is accountable for program goals, objectives, and deliverables. The role also provides direct staff management (hiring, training, onboarding) of a diverse team of heath care professionals (regulated and non-regulated, unionized / HSSA, AUPE). This role will act as a key liaison to develop and maintain strong working partnerships with stakeholders, leaders, and decision makers internal & external to Alberta Health Services, including clinicians, operational leaders, academic institutions, professional organizations, and national/internal stakeholders.

Description:

As the Clinical Manager, Virtual Rehabilitation, you will develop, implement, and evaluate a province-wide approach to the RAL to respond to clinical, service, program, and operations issues within zones. The role will promote innovation by initiating, implementing, and supporting new or modified approaches, practices and processes related to rehabilitation tele-practice. In addition to leading the development of innovative tele-rehabilitation program and services, the Clinical Manager will use quality assurance tools to support patient centred, evidence-based practice.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree, or equivalent, in an allied health profession and appropriate registration with the professional regulatory college. Knowledge of the provincial scope of rehabilitation services within the Provincial Health Agencies (PHA) and Provincial Health Corporations (PHC). Strong leadership skills and ability to implement and grow a program during dynamic times. Strong change management skills. Sound knowledge of the clinical research, quality improvement and evaluation processes in Alberta, including linkages with various departments internal and external to PHAs. Tactical and operational thinking, considering short, mid and long-term goals assessing options and implications. Practical experience in leadership, conflict management, analytics, professional practice development, project management and written communication. Commitment to working collaboratively in a team environment.


Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of five years’ experience in healthcare education, leadership or in a professional development role in an organization of significant size complexity and diversity. Rehabilitation clinical expertise through experience in a variety of settings (e.g. acute, community), to provide full breadth of clinical support to staff. Knowledge of rehabilitation practice standards across varied allied health disciplines and experience working in an interdisciplinary team. Experience in the delivery of telerehabilitation interventions. Excellent computer skills essential, including working knowledge of the Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to learn and support staff using multiple electronic platforms concurrently. Demonstrated ability to manage time in a fast-paced environment, adhere to deadlines, and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities at once. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication, and ability to collaborate effectively with clients, staff and management. Commitment to working collaboratively and to building a positive team culture.


Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of 2 years experience managing a unionized workforce. Previous contact centre experience is an asset.
