Are you a logical inquisitive person with special training in biostatistics who loves using your skills and knowledge to dig into big data to answer population level questions? Reporting to the Senior Statistical Supervisor, Screening Programs is looking for an experienced statistical analyst who can conduct complex population level statistical analysis and reporting activities. The Screening Programs’ analytics team is a group of professionals dedicated to providing accurate, quality and responsive information to encourage Albertans to participate in screening. We are a mainly remote but cohesive team who love scrutinizing numbers and formulas, and trying to understand what the data is telling us. We are looking for a team player who will contribute to our goal of providing Screening Programs, patients and other interested stakeholders with accurate statistics that they need to make informed decisions about screening.

Description:

Main responsibilities and accountabilities for this position include: Perform basic and complex statistical analysis and reporting for different audience/users, including public dashboards, standard key performance metrics reports, and ad-hoc statistical queries. Complete routine statistical tasks that support different program areas with a focus on providing timely and accurate operational support to the Alberta Cervical Cancer Screening Program. Communicate data findings to staff, management and stakeholders as required and liaise with internal and external stakeholders related to provision and interpretation of data for statistical and reporting needs. Complete ad-hoc data requests from internal and external stakeholders to support reporting to local, provincial, national and international audiences as required. Maintain knowledge and competency in a variety of enterprise clinical systems, tools and applications that are utilized by Primary Care Alberta.

Required Qualifications:

A relevant degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Research, Economics or equivalent. 3-5 years of direct work experience in a Canadian health care environment. Competency in working with large databases, must have solid MS SQL programming skills and demonstrated familiarity with R, Python, Snowflake, MS Office products.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Strong analytical problems solving skills. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, task-oriented environment. Ability to work well independently as well as within a remote team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive experience with reporting tool: Tableau, Power BI. Experience with population-level health data analysis. Knowledge of GIS Mapping tools/techniques.
