Your Opportunity:

The Administrative Support IV position plays a key role in supporting the operational and administrative functions of the Family Medicine Clinic at the Kaye Edmonton Clinic. This multifaceted role provides comprehensive support across a variety of clinic functions to ensure efficient operations, continuity of service, and a positive patient experience. Key responsibilities include specialty consultation bookings, procedure coordination, patient communication, MOA in-basket management, and support of referral processes. The successful candidate must possess a thorough understanding of referral management within a family medicine environment and be able to provide knowledgeable support and cross-coverage for referral coordination activities as required. While not functioning as the primary Referral Coordinator, this role helps ensure continuity of referral workflows during absences and periods of increased demand. The position also supports clinic operations through administrative duties such as equipment and supply requests, stores ordering, and occasional administrative support as needed in the clinic. As a flexible member of the clinic team, the incumbent will be trained in multiple administrative and operational areas and is expected to provide cross-coverage where needed to support clinic operations, patient flow, and service delivery. The role may also provide limited clinical support activities, as required and appropriate, to assist the team in meeting operational needs. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, adaptability, initiative, and sound judgment, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a busy family medicine environment. A thorough understanding of primary care initiatives, clinic operations, and daily patient flow is essential, along with demonstrated experience working within a family medicine practice.

Required Qualifications:

Some post-secondary education.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of a recognized Medical Office Assistant (MOA) program, Office Administration program, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum two (2) years' experience working in a family medicine or current primary care setting. Thorough understanding of referral management processes within a family medicine practice. Experience coordinating specialty consultations, procedure bookings, patient communication, and in-basket management within Connect Care. Thorough knowledge, experience and understanding of Connect Care. Experience with clinic administrative functions including supply ordering, equipment requests, and general office administration. Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing operational needs. Proven ability to provide cross-coverage across multiple clinic functions while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous family medicine experience is preferred. A thorough understanding of primary care initiatives, clinic operations, and daily patient flow is essential, along with demonstrated. Experience working within a family medicine practice.
