Your Opportunity:

The successful candidate(s) will work as part of a diverse team of healthcare professionals in a fast-paced, continually changing environment, providing in-person, front-line administrative services within Edmonton Public Health’s Immunization & Rapid Response Casual Pool. This role requires a high degree of flexibility and a strong commitment to delivering professional and client-centered service in high-volume public-facing settings. Shifts are scheduled based on operational requirements and will be assigned at various locations across the Edmonton area, including urban and rural communities. Candidates must be available and able to work at any assigned site, as scheduled. Shifts may include days, evenings, and weekends. Remote work is not available. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Booking appointments Greeting and registering clients using electronic medical record systems in a professional and customer-focused manner Verifying and updating client information in electronic databases Managing client flow and line coordination in high-volume settings Monitoring clients in post-immunization waiting areas Restocking immunization and clinic supplies Cleaning and maintaining work areas in accordance with infection prevention and control standards Providing general administrative and operational support as required This role operates in a high-volume environment and requires the ability to respond to shifting priorities and operational demands throughout the shift while maintaining a high standard of client service.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience (within the past three years) in an office or administrative environment Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) Demonstrated excellence in customer service, with the ability to communicate professionally in high-volume, public-facing environments Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Accurate and efficient keyboarding skills Ability to lift and move supplies of up to 30 lbs as a regular component of the role Ability to perform repetitive tasks (e.g., data entry, registration, supply handling) for extended periods Ability to stand, walk, sit, and bend for prolonged periods throughout the shift Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with continuous activity and frequent interruptions Note: Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a computer-based skills assessment. A minimum score of 80% is required to proceed to the interview stage.

Preferred Qualifications:

Medical Office Assistant Certificate Experience in a medical office or clinical setting Experience with Connect Care Experience with eClinician and/or Netcare/Person Directory (PD) Experience with SharePoint Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-demand environment
