Your Opportunity:
The Calgary Tuberculosis Clinic is seeking a casual Administrative Support III to provide flexible clerical support within a busy, multidisciplinary outpatient clinic. This position provides cross-coverage across front desk reception, clinic scheduling, and referral management. Assignments may vary according to staffing, patient volumes, and operational priorities; therefore, versatility, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively across multiple workflows are essential. Responsibilities include patient reception and registration, verification of demographic information, telephone and in-person inquiries, appointment scheduling and rescheduling, monitoring scheduling work queues, referral processing, and routing referrals through established Connect Care workflows. The position also supports accurate documentation, patient flow, and communication with patients, families, healthcare providers, and the multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate must be comfortable transitioning between administrative assignments, managing competing priorities, and maintaining accuracy in a high-volume environment. Flexibility, reliability, professionalism, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality are required. Applicants must submit a current resume with their application. The successful candidate must be available to complete approximately four weeks of full-time orientation and training before transitioning to casual coverage. Ongoing availability to provide coverage based on clinic operational needs is required.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent (within the last 6 months) Connect Care training and demonstrated competency as a Front Desk Clerk, Schegistrar, and Referral Coordinator is required, with recent experience supporting patient registration, clinic scheduling, and referral management. Candidates must demonstrate fluency in English, both written and verbal, with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accuracy, protect patient confidentiality, and provide cross-coverage across multiple clerical functions is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams, is required. Candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of the role, including frequent standing and occasional lifting of items weighing up to 20 lbs. The successful candidate must be able to complete and maintain an appropriate N95 respirator fit test. Flexibility, reliability, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to transition between front desk, scheduling, and referral assignments based on operational needs are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:Post-secondary education in medical office, unit clerk, administration, or a related field. Recent outpatient, specialty clinic, public health, or ambulatory care experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with patient registration, scheduling, referral workflows, work queues, and diverse patient populations are assets. Ability to quickly learn and maintain competency across multiple administrative functions is preferred.
